William Leon Wallace, better known as “Buddy,” entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 22, 2026. His life began on September 1, 1951, the fourth son of the late Mabel and Harold Wallace, Sr., of Williamsburg, Virginia.

William was educated in the York County and Williamsburg school systems and graduated from James Blair High School Class of 1970.

At an early age, William accepted Christ as his Savior, was baptized, and joined Union Baptist Church, Williamsburg, VA.

He worked various jobs with Kingsmill, the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, Williamsburg-James City County Schools, and later retired from Custom Builder in Williamsburg, VA.

In his leisure time Buddy enjoyed spending time with family and friends, watching his beloved Dallas Cowboys and other sports events on TV. Another favorite of his was watching oldies TV shows. He loved driving throughout the country and he knew every back-road in the area.

Buddy was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Harold “Pye” Wallace, John “Ghost” Wallace, and Charles “Bernard” Wallace. He leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving daughter, Briana Wallace; his granddaughter, Kamaiyah; his adopted daughter, Wanda H. Fields; his special friend, Sylinda Piggott; his brother, Vasco Wallace (Vivian); sister-in-law, Priscilla Wallace; along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held at Noon, on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at Union Baptist Church, with a viewing beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
