Caroline Rose Duncan, 83, of Newport News, VA passed away on Friday, May 8, 2026. Born in Milwaukee, WI, Caroline was the daughter of Eugene and Clara Rademacher.
Throughout her life, she was known for her humor and generosity. Caroline’s vibrant spirit showed through in everything she did, especially in the bold statement hats she loved to wear. Caroline dedicated many years to the Newport News Public School System, serving as a secretary both in the administration office and in several schools.
Caroline loved attending shows and special events at the Ferguson Center for the Arts and Chrysler Hall, especially when shared with the theater group she cherished, and the dear friends who accompanied her. Caroline treasured every moment spent with her family and friends, who filled her life with joy. Some of Caroline’s happiest days were at the beach, surrounded by her loved ones and extended family, laughing, relaxing and – true to form – showing off her wonderfully wild hats.
Caroline is survived by her children, Craig Wydman and Chris Duncan; her grandchildren, Aubrey Porcher and husband, Pierce, Matthew Wydman and wife, Valentina, Hailey Wydman, and Jordan and Preston Duncan. Caroline was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Clara and her brothers, Richard and Robert Rademacher.
A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at Weymouth Funeral Home, 12746 Nettles Dr., Newport News, VA 23606. Family and friends are invited to join us for a reception following the service at the funeral home to celebrate Caroline’s life.
