Florine “Flo” Elizabeth Roane passed away peacefully on May 6, 2026.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Florence Roane; father, Thomas Roane, Sr.; sister, Louise White, and brother, Thomas Roane, Jr.
Florine accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age at Parrish Hill Baptist Church. She attended the schools of Charles City County and later dedicated 35 years of service working as a housekeeper. Florine enjoyed working in her yard, dancing, making others laugh, and, most of all, engaging in conversation. She loved to talk and was good at it!
She leaves to cherish her memory to her loving son, Vernon Roane (Bernetta); loving daughter, Cherie Roane; loving granddaughter, Nijah Johnson; sisters, Irene Ruttley, and Linda Moore; brothers, David Roane (Juanita) and Albert Roane; two sisters-in-law, Beulah Roane, and Carolyn Roane; one brother-in-law, Eric Ruttley; a devoted cousin, Nathaniel Brown; a special and devoted friend, Shannon Richard and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A funeral service will be held 1PM Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Parrish Hill Baptist Church, 12401 John Tyler Memorial Highway, Charles City, VA 23030. A viewing will be held 2 hours prior to services.
