Thadius R. Blair, an extraordinary man of generosity and unwavering dedication, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2026, in Chesapeake, VA, at the age of 57. Born on January 4, 1969, in Virginia Beach, VA, Thad was a beacon of kindness and an inspiration to all who knew him.

A graduate of Kempsville High School, Thad went on to build a remarkable career at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, where he retired as a painting supervisor. Through his work, he not only showcased his professional skill but also his steadfast commitment to excellence and teamwork.

Thad’s interests were as varied as they were profound. He found joy in spending time with his family, and his greatest happiness came from being surrounded by those he loved. An avid fisherman, Thad found peace and contentment outdoors, casting a line and enjoying the serenity of nature. His passion for DeWalt power tools fueled many projects, as he dedicated himself to repair and resale, home rehab, and repair for family and friends. Thad was a collector of many treasures, each one a testament to his curious spirit and zest for life.

Preceded in death by his father, Weeden Blair; mother, Sharon Blair; and brother, Jonny Blair. Thad’s memory will be forever cherished by those he leaves behind. He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Blair; his son, Thadius Blair, Jr.; daughter Nacole Holland and her husband Preston; and his treasured grandchildren, Luke, Raylan, Lorelei, Jase, Madilynn, and Remi. He will be deeply missed by his siblings, Weedie Blair and his fiancé Ruth, Heidi Gurganus and her husband Ronnie, and Matt Blair, as well as his sister-in-law Cathy Blair, all his nieces and nephews, and his many cherished friends.

Thad was a man who would give the shirt off his back. Always willing to lend a helping hand, he devoted his time and energy to family, friends, coworkers, and neighbors alike. Never one to shy away from a challenge, he was a man of many projects, and having just one at a time was never enough for his industrious nature.

In remembering Thad, we honor a life lived with purpose, love, and an unyielding dedication to making the world a better place for all.
