Jill Skelly (nee Cummings) of Williamsburg Va. formerly of Pearl River NY, passed away suddenly on April 28 2026 at the age of 80.
Jill was born in NYC on November 1 1945 to Edward and Marion (Boylston) Cummings. She grew up in the Washington Heights section of Manhattan and moved to Nanuet NY in 1960 where she met and married the love of her life Bob Skelly in 1966. She graduated from Albertus Magnus High School and Rockland Community College as a Registered Nurse.
Bob and Jill embarked on an adventure right away as Bob was serving in the Air Force in Turkey and then California where they welcomed their first child, Christopher. They returned to New York and their second child Brigitte was born. They settled in Pearl River, raised a family and made life long friends. They ultimately made the move to Williamsburg Va. where they built the home of their dreams, retired and continually hosted friends and family.
Jill was known for her love of her family especially her granddaughter Rachel, and great granddaughter Eleanor, her love of gardening, reading and love of animals especially her pets. Jill was always the calming, loving influence on all those around her. Her kindness, friendship, sensibility and words of wisdom will be missed tremendously.
Jill is survived by her husband Bob, daughter Brigitte (Rob) granddaughters Rachel (Andrew) Gretchen and Hannon and great granddaughter Eleanor, brother Doug, brothers and sister in law, Tim, Kathy, Tom and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She is predeceased by her son, Chris, her parents, mother and father in law, brother in law Bill and sister in law Eileen.
