Donna G. Fowler passed away at home on Monday, April 27, 2026.
Donna spent her career working for the government as a civil service accountant. Since her retirement, she has spent her days being a beloved “maw maw” with her 8 beautiful grandchildren helping to raise them. She has been a wonderful friend to many and will be dearly missed.
Donna was preceded in death by her father, Horrace T. Massey; her mother, Myrtle V. Massey; her brother, Stephen M. Massey; as well as her beloved husband, Thomas J. Fowler.
She is survived by a son and his wife, J. Scott (Kimberly) Grimes of Lanexa; a daughter and her husband, Melissa Glass (Joshua) Glass of Lanexa; a daughter, Whitney F. Poythress of Toano; and a son, Thomas A. Fowler of Orlando, Fl; her sister, Barbara M. Fowler of Lanexa; as well as her 8 grandchildren, Taylor Peterson (Joshua Peterson), Nathaniel Grimes, Kendall Usher, Riley Usher, Lillian Glass, Joshua Poythress, Graeson Poythress, and Andrew Hunsucker.
A funeral service will be held 1 PM, Friday, May 1, 2026, at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, VA 23140. The family will receive friends an hour prior to services. Interment will follow at Williamsburg Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Riverside Hospice Care 856 J Clyde Morris Blvd, Ste C Newport News VA or to James City Toano Volunteer Fire Department, 3135 Forge Rd., Toano VA 23168.
