A gentle, intelligent, kind & loving soul went to Glory on Friday, April 3, 2026. Cynthia Vashti Guzzi was born on April 28, 1933 to Marie (nee Sears) and Gilbert Webster in Salisbury, MD.
She grew up in Phildelphia but her roots were in the South. She new the waterman’s ways through her father’s family in Deals Island, MD. Her mother’s family had long lived in Middlesex County, VA.
Cynthia loved her family, friends, attending Urbanna United Methodist Church, playing bells, enjoying her azaleas, reading everything from fiction to encyclopedias; listening to Barry Manilow to Verdi’s ‘Aida’; going out for lunch and hosting afternoon teas in her home. She was gracious, kind, inquisitive, and an eternal optimist. She was interested in everyone she met and always had a warm, welcoming smile. She will be deeply missed by family and friends.
The family are deeply grateful to the staff of Hospice of Virginia in Tappahannock. Heartfelt thanks to her Nurses, Shannon and Hailey and Anna, the Volunteer Coordinator. We also thank her friends and neighbors who kindly helped us.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
