Timothy “Tim” Randal Gramentz, a beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at his residence in Virginia Beach, VA, on March 23, 2026, at the age of 66. Born on December 18, 1959, in Minnesota, Tim lived a life marked by dedication to his work, love for his family, and passion for his interests.
Tim was a gifted software architect who devoted his career to programming medical systems since the 1980s. His passion for computer programming was evident in every project he undertook, and his contributions to the field were both significant and enduring. For almost two decades, he owned and operated Gramtech, Inc, then more recently was employed by Sentara Health.
A true Minnesotan at heart, Tim was an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings, cheering them on with unwavering loyalty. He also had a deep love for animals, particularly dogs and cats, who brought him much joy and companionship throughout his life.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold Gramentz and Annette (Green) Gramentz-Roiger, and his sister, Stacy Lynn Marnie. He is survived by his son, Chad T. Gramentz of Mora, MN; his brother, Troy Gramentz of Essig, MN; and his sisters, Monica Ockwig Moss of Alaska, Kimberly Samuel of Springfield, MN, and Miranda “Mandy” Roiger of North Carolina. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and dedication that will be cherished by all who knew him.
In memory of Tim, he wished that anyone who would like to honor him please consider adopting an animal from their local shelter.
Tim will be remembered for his warmth and the love he shared with those around him. May he rest in peace.
