Nancy L. Strayer, 76, of Sterling, Virginia, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2025, surrounded by family.
Nancy dedicated her life to serving others—first through a long, distinguished career as a flight attendant with United Airlines, and later as a cherished sister, aunt, and friend. Known for her quick smile, competitive streak, and mastery of crossword puzzles, she filled every room with warmth and humor.
An avid traveler, Nancy explored every continent except Antarctica—visiting destinations like Australia, Japan, and Germany—and collected meaningful treasures and memories from her journeys. A gifted photographer, she captured stunning landscapes and wildlife, including a breathtaking shot of elephants charging on safari.
Nancy courageously fought COPD and passed peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of adventure, kindness, and laughter. She is survived by her brother, C. Keith Strayer; nieces Jennifer Charnecki, Nicole Strayer (children Michelle and Vito DeGyves), and Stephanie Taylor (husband Josh Taylor, children Calvin and Kasey Taylor).
