Stanley Alvin Ware 69 of King and Queen County Virginia passed away August 21, 2025.
Born to the late Lewis Daniel and Lola Mae Ware, Stanley was a lifelong resident of King and Queen County.
He was a 1974 graduate of York Academy High School and a proud second-generation millworker at the West Point Papermill, where he dedicated 47 years of hard work and service.
Stanley was a man of quiet strength and deep devotion to his family. He loved spending time outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and he never missed a chance to cheer on his grandchildren from the sidelines; watching their games was a source of great joy and pride.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Gloria Ware, his son, Danny, and daughter-in-law, Stephanie, and three beloved grandchildren: Taylor, Jacob, and Lauryn. He is also survived by his sister, Dorothy Bristow, and her husband Garland, along with many nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly.
The family will receive friends 4 pm. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at Vincent Funeral Home, 417 11th Street, West Point, VA, 23181. A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly request that donations be made to the Lower King and Queen Fire Department, P.O. Box187, Shacklefords, VA 23156 in Stanley’s honor.
Stanley will be remembered for his big personality never meeting a stranger, his love for the outdoors, and his unwavering devotion to those he loved. His presence will be deeply missed.
