Patsy Ann Cheek, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2025, in Williamsburg, Virginia, at the age of 83. Born on January 16, 1942, in Hampton, Virginia, she lived a life full of love, laughter, and adventure.
She found joy in playing cards, dancing, and tennis, embracing every opportunity to enjoy the outdoors through camping, sailing, and skiing. She also maintained an active lifestyle with water aerobics. Above all, Patsy adored her family, especially her dear grandson Cameron, who brought immense joy to her life. Her love for animals was evident to all who knew her, as she treasured her pets, both cats and dogs.
As a faithful member of Northside Christian Church, Patsy found strength and community within her faith. Her warmth and kindness touched many lives, leaving behind cherished memories for all who were fortunate to have known her.
Patsy is preceded in death by her parents, William Test Sr. and Realie Test, as well as siblings Melvin Briggs, Joan Libby, Kenny Test, and Butch Test.
She leaves behind a loving family, including her sister Connie and brother-in-law Larry Munn; sister-in-law Linda Test; son Craig Cheek and daughter-in-law Sheri Cheek; her son Brian Cheek and daughter-in-law Tanya Sawyer along with her children; and her daughter Melissa Cheek and son-in-law Jason Doyle with his children. Her adored grandson, Cameron Cheek, will carry forward her legacy of love and laughter along with several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A celebration of Patsy’s life will be scheduled at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory and the beautiful life she led.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Heritage Humane Society in Patsy’s honor, reflecting her deep love for animals.
