Lemuel William Johnson entered into eternal rest on Saturday, June 14, 2025. His life will forever be a legacy of blessings, touching hearts and inspiring all who knew him.
A native of Charles City County, he was the ninth child of the late Allen Johnson and Clementine Lee Bradby Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his son, Rev. Karlos Johnson; daughter-in-law, Rev. Angela Johnson; five brothers, Hartwell (Alva), Parnell (Peggy), Lindbergh (Elizabeth), Hubert, and Ivan (Clara); two sisters, Elsie (Carlton), Angie (Richard); two sisters-in-laws, Deborah (Russell), and Burnette (T.O.); one brother-in-law, Bancroft.
“Lem”, as he was affectionately known, leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife of 59 1/2 years, Denise Hamilton Johnson; two devoted sons Kevin (Anita), Keith (Tiffany); six grandchildren, Taylor (Ty), Alesha (Charles), TeVon, Chris (Myrtle), Kellen, and Krystal; five great-grandchildren; one devoted sister, Almeade Jones; one sister-in-law, Macie Johnson; two brothers-in-law, Fred III and Vincent Hamilton; a devoted nephew, Lindbergh Johnson, Jr., and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He also leaves numerous friends, two devoted, Rudy Bell and Henry Hayes.
