It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donna Sue White, affectionately known as “Mawmaw” to her family and friends. Born on May 6, 1956, Donna graced this world with her vibrant spirit for 69 years before peacefully departing on June 9, 2025, in Chesapeake, VA.
Donna spent many years working at Tidewater Auto Auction, where she was a vital part of the team, overseeing the check-in process for cars and contributing in numerous other ways. Her vibrant personality and work ethic left a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure to work alongside her.
Her passions extended beyond her work. She had an immense love for racing, whether it was the thrilling NASCAR events or the excitement of Friday nights at Dixieland. Her spirit was always uplifted by the roar of engines and the sense of community found at the racetrack.
To her grandchildren, Mawmaw was nothing short of a superhero. She never missed an event that involved them and was always the biggest and loudest cheerleader in the crowd, sharing in their joys and triumphs with unmatched enthusiasm. Her presence was a beacon of support and love, and her absence will surely be felt.
Donna was a friend to everyone she met, easily striking up conversations and forming bonds wherever she went. Her candid nature meant she spoke her mind freely, sometimes more bluntly than intended, but always with sincerity. Her heart was as generous as her voice, seen in her dedication to feeding and caring for stray cats.
Donna leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory forever: her, devoted husband of 24 years, Raymond, with whom she shared 30 beautiful years, her daughter, Amanda (Stephen), sons Stanley (Sabrina) and Joey (Crystal), and her beloved grandchildren Brittany, Kaleb, Megan, Jaxon, Brexton, Breonna, Courtney, and Maverick. Her cherished dog, Lexi, will also miss her dearly.
A visitation will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025, from 6 PM to 8 PM at Altmeyer Funeral Home-Chesapeake Chapel located at 929 S. Battlefield Blvd., Chesapeake, VA. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 1PM at the same location.
Donna Sue White, Mawmaw to most, leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion. In her memory, may we all live life a little louder, love a little deeper, and embrace each day with the spirit she so graciously shared with us all.
