Catherine A. West departed this life on June 7, 2025, in Williamsburg, VA. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother whose warmth and kindness left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Catherine devoted her life to creating a loving home, where family and friends always felt welcome and cherished. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her loved ones to her flourishing garden, where she cultivated beauty with her green thumb. In quiet moments, she found solace in the pages of a good book or tending to her virtual garden in Farmville, where her dedication and care were evident in every pixelated bloom.
Her radiant smile and infectious laugh were ever-present, illuminating the lives of those around her. Catherine’s joy was a gift that brightened any room she entered and uplifted all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Preceded in death by her parents, John Joseph Eschmann and Winifred Catherine Scally, Catherine is survived by her devoted husband, David L. West; her children, Jeffrey (Stephanie) Connors and Christi Lee (Quenton) Ingram; her siblings, Marie and Scott Price, Johnny and Diana Eschmann, Terry Eschmann, Irene Eschmann, Liz and Anthony McCabe, Susie and Bobby Bashian, and Joe and Laura Ann Eschmann. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Victor Magagnoli, Katrina Connors, Caleb Ingram, Neriah Ingram, and Joshua Ingram.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 13, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Bucktrout Funeral Home. Catherine will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
