Faith, Family, Friends, and her Farm. These words represent Agnes Wilson Bristow’s most valued treasures. Agnes was known by many as “Miss Agnes,” “Nana,” and “Aggie.” She was a persevering woman who cherished reading scripture, attending church, and spending time with family and friends. She touched the lives of many in the community through her dedication as a United States Post Office Clerk for 25 years at the Shacklefords and Urbanna, VA, post offices as well as her numerous years volunteering at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital gift shop. Riding around her farm, admiring nature and God’s beauty was one of her Agnes’ favorite pastimes.
Agnes was preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Inez Ashworth; her eight siblings; and her husbands, Thomas Ensign Wilson Jr. (1989) and Columbus “Lum” Bristow (2008). She is survived by her loving family including her daughter, Sabrina Bristow (Boo Boo Bristow); son, Thomas Ensign Wilson III (Deborah “Debbie”), stepdaughter LaDonna Pierson; and seven grandchildren, Leslie Bristow Lantz (Randy Jr.), Mark Bristow, Ridge Bristow, Casie Wilson Crump (Travis), Emily Wilson, and Thomas Ensign Wilson IV, and Katie Pierson-Jones. She has nine great-grandchildren, Samuel, Ethan, Abagail, Joshua, Colton, Aidan, Asher, Falon, and Romeo; beloved neighbors, Charles, Jeannette, Lindsay, Meredith, and Tommy Adkins; nieces, nephews, numerous cousins, and friends.
