Faye Cumbie Kersh departed our life on March 18, 2025 to join her Lord and Savior. She was born in Lynchburg, Virginia on October 25, 1930. Her parents were Broadus and Annie Cox Cumbie.
Faye was married to her best friend, Charles Lenfred Kersh, who preceded in her death. She was also preceded in death by her daughter Carrol Kersh Bruce and grandson Charles Patrick Kersh. She will be joining her four sisters who were all very close, Beryle, Tee, Crystal and Rachel.
She is survived by Dr. C. Ronald Kersh and his caring wife Connie Kramer Kersh from St. Simons Island, Georgia.
She is survived by two grandchildren by daughter Carrol: granddaughter Anne Kersh Brooks from Savannah, GA and her husband Chad, and great-grandchildren, Carrol Scott and twins Emma and Alexander; and granddaughter Allison Bruce.
Also surviving are four grandchildren by her son, Ron: granddaughter Lindsay Kersh Willey and her husband Robert Willey along with their son Dean; granddaughter Blair Kersh Jackson and husband Andrew with her great-granddaughter Naomi and awaiting one more addition to their family in April; and twin grandchildren Cameron Kersh and his sister Bailey Kersh.
She is also survived by her step-grandchildren, and their children, and two loving nieces.
In lieu of flowers, she requested donations be made to The Autism Society of Tidewater Virginia at 3509 Virginia Beach Blvd, Virginia Beach, VA 23452.
There will be no ceremony but, in the fall, we will have a private burial alongside her husband and daughter with a small family service in Bridgewater.
