Amanda Lou Maynard, 84, Virginia Beach, passed away peacefully March 19th, 2025.
Amanda was born in Raleigh, NC but spent most of her life in Virginia Beach. Her parents relocated the family to Virginia Beach when she was young. Her father, Wilbur A. Maynard, was the founder of Maynard’s Auto Glass and Upholstery in Norfolk, where Amanda worked most of her life as a bookkeeper for the business and was also a co-owner of the business after her father passed away.
When she wasn’t helping her father with the business she was helping her mother at home. Also, she loved to travel with her mother, they took many trips together including Mexico, Hawaii, California, Florida, and more. They also made frequent trips to Pennsylvania to visit her sister and her family and shop in the outlets there. She loved to shop with her mother and they had many shopping excursions during her life.
Surviving includes her nieces and nephews; Dale Schoener, Lynn (Schoener) Hathaway and husband Edwin, Debbie (Maynard) Waldrop and husband Doug, Dean Forbes, and their families.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur A Maynard and Mary A Maynard; her sister Vanessa A (Maynard) Schoener; and her brothers Jimmy S Maynard and Wilbur “Rand” Maynard; and her nephew Randall A Maynard.
