Dr. Jerome S. Daniel, DDS, was born on September 6, 1948, in Williamsburg, Virginia, as the youngest of nine children to William and Rebecca Daniel. He went home to be with his Heavenly Father on March 7, 2025.
Jerome grew up in Williamsburg, VA, with his sisters Rachel, May Bell, Pauline, Westell, Ruth, and Alverita along with his brothers Thomas and William.
Jerome graduated from Berkeley High School with the class of 1967. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Virginia State University in 1972 and continued his education at Howard University, where he obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Jerome is also a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Throughout his life, he remained committed to his faith, attending St. John’s Baptist Church in Williamsburg, VA, The Abyssinian Baptist Church in Harlem NY, and more recently, Bethany Baptist Church in Syracuse, NY.
Jerome served in the US Army achieving the rank of Captain and with his entrepreneurial spirit, opened his first dental practice in his hometown of Williamsburg, VA. Later, he opened practices in Harrisburg, PA, and Harlem, NY. He also practiced dentistry in several other locations. Finally, practicing in Syracuse, NY at the Syracuse Community Health Center, serving as Dental Director where he settled and proudly raised his twin daughters Faith and Imani.
Jerome had a natural ability to make people feel loved. He dedicated himself to giving back, whether through volunteering, mentoring his family, or devoting his time to his children and grandchildren. Jerome was a loving father, brother, uncle, and friend to many.
He is survived by his oldest daughter Onicka; twin daughters, Imani and Faith; son-in-law, Adrian S. Griffin; granddaughter, Brianna; grandsons, Micah and Preston; sister Ruth; brothers, Thomas and William III; loving companion and life partner Cora Thomas; best friend Harlan Hill; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service celebrating Dr. Jerome’s life will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2025, at St. John Baptist Church. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. Dr. Daniel may be viewed on Saturday beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the hour of his service.
