Reverend David Lewis Robinson (Weymouth Funeral Home & Crematory)

Reverend David Lewis Robinson, 72, moved to his heavenly home on March 13, 2025 after an extended illness.

David was born in Asheville, N.C. and lived in N.C., Georgia, and Alabama throughout his childhood, He graduated from Mars Hill College in 1974 and went on to Southeastern Seminary in Wake Forest where he earned a Master of Divinity. After serving in churches in N.C. and Va. for 33 years, David earned a Master’s in Counseling from Regent University in 2010. He then served on staff at Peninsula Pastoral Counseling Center for eight years.

Throughout his adult life, David enjoyed working with church youth groups, having led numerous World Changer events. After retiring, David became a member of The First Baptist Church of Newport News, where he taught Sunday School and served on various committees. He also enjoyed playing golf, biking, ballroom dancing, and spending time with family. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

David was preceded in death by his parents, James and Bernice Robinson and brother, Keith of Naples, N.C. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, the former Gail Falkner, and two sons, Brandon K. Robinson of Powhatan, Va. and wife, Lauren, and Christopher D. Robinson of Staunton, Va. and wife, Cary and four grandchildren, Daniel, 16 years of age, Ella Lew, 14 years of age, Katelyn, 13 years of age, and Emerson, 11 years of age.

A reception will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2025 in Payne Hall at The First Baptist Church of Newport News. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of the church with interment to follow at Peninsula Memorial Park.

The family asks in lieu of flowers, please make a small contribution to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
