Geraldine “Gerry” Fay Bowery 93 of Roxbury, VA, the widow of Leon B. Bowery went to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 27, 2025.
She was preceded in death by a son, Mark Leon Bowery, her parents, Harry and Helen Kallenbach, and is survived by her children, son, Michael P. Bowery and 2 daughters, Joy Lynn Hamlin (Gary) and Tracy B. Meyer (Dale).
She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Jennelle K. Bowery, Jessica S. Bowery, Taylor P. Bowery and Reese D. Meyer and 1 great grandson, Dylan C. Bowery.
Mrs. Bowery was a graduate and salutatorian of Chester High School in Chester, Pennsyvania. She was a member of Emmaus Baptist Church for over 60 years, she also served as a Girl Scout Leader and Cub Scout Den Mother and was a member of the Martha Dandridge Woman’s Club.
She was a loving, caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Before ever thinking of herself, she thought of others, always reaching out with a helping hand to those in need. She will be greatly missed by those who loved and knew her.
The family will receive friends on Friday, March 7, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Vincent Funeral Home 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, Virginia 23140, where funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM.
The interment will follow at Emmaus Baptist Church Cemetery 6700 Emmaus Church Road, Providence Forge, VA 23140. Memorial contributions may be made to Emmaus Baptist Church.
