William L. Henderson, 78, of Virginia Beach, VA, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2025, with his devoted wife, Carolyn M. Henderson, by his side. William and Carolyn shared 54 beautiful years of marriage after meeting in college, and she remained the love of his life.
Born and raised in Syracuse, New York, William had a lifelong passion for sports, earning numerous awards in his hometown. He proudly served his country as a U.S. Army veteran.
In addition to being preceded in death by his parents, Emmanuel and Muriel Henderson, he is also predeceased by his brothers; Emanuel Henderson, Jr, and Bryce Henderson, and sister, Helena Bowman.
William will be deeply missed by his wife, Carolyn; his sons, Derrick V. Henderson (Markesha) of Atlanta, Georgia and Coty G. Henderson of Virginia Beach; grandchildren, Coty, Maleaha, Derrick, Caden, and William, and a host of extended family and friends,
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to assist with his funeral expenses.
A service to honor his life will be announced at a later date.
