Margaret H. Holland, 84, of Williamsburg, died Tuesday, January 28, 2025.
Margaret “Marty” lived her whole life in Williamsburg. She was a member of Lebanon Christian Church in Lee Hall, Virginia. Many children knew her there as “Miss Marty”, teacher of the 3 year-old class for over 40 years.
Marty loved people. She worked for many years in the Athletic Department of The College of William and Mary, as well as AMF Williamsburg Lanes, where she met many lifelong friends, and coached hundreds of youth bowlers over her lifetime. She enjoyed bowling so much and would always make time to bowl a game or two with her friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Wayne Holland; her father, Myers B. Hitchens; her mother, Grace Newton Hitchens; her brother, Myers B. “Bucky” Hitchens, Jr. ; and her brother, Thomas “Tommy” Hitchens.
She is survived by her three children; son Gordon Fincham (Jaclyn) of Autryville, North Carolina; daughter Robin Wilder-Hartman (Paul) of Williamsburg, Virginia; son Scott Holland (Kara) of Williamsburg, Virginia; and 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
