Paul Douglas Sites, Sr., 77, of West Point, VA passed away October 1, 2024.
Paul served his country as a Marine in the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1968. After his service, he married the love of his life, Dora on December 25, 1968. In March of 1971 his life changed when he denounced atheism and surrendered his life to Christ. Paul was an ordained minister through Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle, Ashland, Va and pastored Calvary Pentecostal Tabernacle in West Point, VA from 1976 to 2015. If you knew Paul you knew he loved God, his country and his family. He had a very special bond with his youngest grandson, “J.J.”, they were inseparable. He lit up whenever “J.J.” was around.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Vernon Sites and Audrey Martin; his siblings, Judy, “Dee” and Debbie; his wife Dora; beloved son Timothy and granddaughter Candyce.
Paul is survived by his children, Paula Lockley, Paul, Jr. (Linda), Rachel Hayden, Rebekah Marshall, Naomi Miller, Joshua Sites, Sr. (Dewyonna). His siblings Jerry Snead, Angie Martin, Arnold Sites, Granville Sites, Mary Roby, Celia Sites, Penny Lincoln; fourteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, October 7th at Vincent Funeral Home, 417 11th Street, West Point, VA 23181. Interment will follow in Sunny Slope Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
