Mae Greene Miles remarkable mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister gained her wings and went home to be with the lord on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at age 81.
Mae’s journey began on February 20, 1943, in Charles City County Virginia born to Mr. Newsome O. Greene and Mrs. Maylean Crewe Greene. Educated in Charles City County Public Schools, Mae embraced her faith early in life and was a devoted member of Gilfield Baptist Church. Mae married Louis Davis Miles in 1968 and embarked on a career at Acme Tomato Company before joining Reynolds Metal Company, where she dedicated over 20 years of service before retiring.
Known for her love of Ford Mustangs, culinary skills, and zest for life, Mae will be welcomed at the gates of eternity by her husband, Louis “Crook” Miles; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Newsome O. Greene; mother-in-law, Elzina Charity; brothers, Stewart, Ernest (Choke), Newsome (Pop), Julius (Rock), James (Tony), and sisters, Kay, Gwendolyn (Goo) and Zona.
Mae leaves behind a legacy of love and fond memories for her daughters, Charlotte Mae Boyd (Ivey) and Donna Miles Hicks; grandson, Ivey Tillman Boyd II; great-grandchildren, Sa’Quora Cutler, Neahmiah Boyd, Meilani Boyd, sisters Emily Russell, Vendola Greene (Victor), and a multitude of other cherished relatives and friends.
