The son of Saul and Regina Zubkoff, Dr. Zubkoff was born in 1934 in Niagara Falls, NY.
The youngest of four, he is predeceased by Maurice, Sara, and Bernard.
He graduated with a BS from U of Buffalo, an MS from GWU, and a PhD in Biochemistry from Cornell U. under Dr. Robert Holley who was later awarded the Nobel Prize for his work on RNA. His Postdoctoral experiences at UCLA and MIT afforded him and his family the opportunity to experience life in our country, coast to coast.
He spent a lifetime enjoying the work he chose for his career, whether as a biochemist at Ohio State U, an oceanographer/chemist at the W&M VA Institute of Marine Science, or chemist with the EPA in Washington.
His passions included his family, his career, photography, travel, and sailing.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife of 64 years, Sheila Rudd Zubkoff, his cherished daughters Lonni (Philip) Schulz and Jordana Zubkoff, his beloved grandchildren Rebecca Schulz (David) Gabay and Jonathan Schulz, and many nieces and nephews.
Contributions may be made in his memory to the Alzheimer’s Association or Temple Beth El in Williamsburg.
Many thanks for the loving care Paul received from the Landing staff in Memory Support and Namaste.
