Robert Edward Piper, Jr. “Chip”, 71, of New Kent “Eltham”, Virginia, peacefully entered his heavenly home on July 30, 2024.
He is survived by his beautiful daughters, Rachael P. Piper and Gabrielle A. Eyer (Scott); his sister, Perryann Piper Whitehurst; his four beloved grandchildren, Amelia, Isla, Charlotte and Sullivan; his nephews, Chase Whitehurst and Bobby Whitehurst (Alison); his great-niece, Piper; and an enormous family of relatives and friends, near and far.
Robert “Chip” is preceded in death by his parents, Robert “Bob” and Ruth Piper.
Chip raved about his family the most; his grandchildren and daughters were his pride and joy. He had a vast number of passions ranging from being an avid outdoorsman, his eagerness to learn through experiences and reading, his love for anything with wheels (his favorite – motorcycles) radiated through him with pure joy, his dedication to gardening in the elements every year shown through in the delicacies he mastered in the kitchen.
His travels throughout the country and his many camping journeys with friends and family bring so many memories for us all to reflect on. Chip never met a stranger and has friends from all over the world. He shared and spread his wealth of knowledge to anyone he encountered. Robert “Chip” Piper, Jr, would want nothing more than for everyone in his life to carry on his passion and love for fishing, the great outdoors, growing one’s education and experience his love, pride and respect for firearms, motorcycles, and astrology. Chip will be extraordinarily missed by so many.
Respectfully, his wishes were to have no funeral service, but to celebrate his life and memory in your own way.
Robert “Chip” will be with us all in spirit and light.
