With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Delores Carter Judd, aged 75, who departed this world on July 19, 2024, in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Born on July 12, 1949, in Jesup, Georgia, Delores was a beacon of strength, commitment, and love throughout her life. She dedicated over 30 years of her professional journey to the Virginia Beach Public Schools, where she touched the hearts and minds of countless students and colleagues.
She was immensely proud of her granddaughter and her daughters Lisa and Stephanie. Although she was many things to many people, her most beloved roles were Mom and Grammy- both at which she excelled. Delores enjoyed any activity with “her girls”, whether it was baking, crafting, going to the beach or just laughing and talking. She also enjoyed sewing, spending time with treasured friends and family and making memories with those she loved. Delores was a loving, thoughtful, welcoming and caring person who enjoyed the little things in life. Words cannot adequately express just how deeply she was loved or how much she will be missed.
Delores was preceded in death by her loving parents, Marvin Carter and Geneva Selby.
She leaves behind a legacy of love through her surviving family: her devoted daughters, Stephanie Judd and Lisa Hart (David); her cherished granddaughter Hillary; her brothers, Marvin Selby (Paula), and Chris Selby; her sisters, Carla Baker, Melanie Selby, and Mary Spinos; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who will continue to celebrate her life and memory.
As we say goodbye, we find solace in remembering the indelible mark she left on our hearts. Her spirit of kindness, happiness, contagious laughter, and unconditional love will continue to inspire us all.
