Johnny C. Forte Jr., affectionately known as “Junebug,” was born on July 18, 1946, in Wayne County, North Carolina. He peacefully passed away on March 22, 2024, in Virginia Beach, Virginia, at the age of 77.

Johnny dedicated over 50 years of his life as a Silversmith Technician, honing his craft and leaving a lasting legacy in his work. His passion for his profession was evident to all who knew him. Outside of work, Johnny found joy in simple pleasures. A die-hard Redskins fan, he cheered for his team with unwavering loyalty. But above all, Johnny was a devoted family man.

He cherished every moment spent with his loved ones, finding happiness in their presence. Johnny’s love for fishing and watching old Western TV shows and movies provided him with moments of relaxation and enjoyment. Football held a special place in his heart, bringing him excitement and bonding moments with friends and family. Johnny leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He is preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Harriett Forte, his brother David Forte, and his sister Quay Forte. Johnny is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Belinda S. Forte, his step-daughter Nykisha Dixon (Ronald), his step-son Kaliq Cambell (Mica), and his grandchildren Sky, Troy, Ty, and Shyhiem.

He will be deeply missed by his sisters Invasion Cornish (West Palm Beach, Florida), Delacy J. Woods (Columbus, Ohio), Carolyn A. Forte (Columbus, Ohio), Dianne Forte (Columbus, Ohio), as well as his uncles Christopher Forte (San Antonio, Texas) and Gene Ray Artis (District of Columbia), nephews Robert T. Woods and David Daewoo Forte, great-nieces Maria Lambert-Woods and Kayla Marshall Woods, and beloved in-laws Rod (Joice), Roxanne, Debbie, Michelle (Brian), Bernadette (Tony), Amy, and brother in law Walter.

Johnny’s warm presence, love for his family, especially his wonderful sisters, and his unwavering support for those around him will always be remembered. He and his wife shared a special bond that began in their youth, reconnecting later in life to build a beautiful marriage. Johnny’s infectious spirit and happy-go-lucky demeanor brought joy to all who knew him. Johnny’s warm and caring nature touched the hearts of all who knew him. He will be remembered as a kind-hearted and always-present family man, admired for his unwavering love and support.

May Johnny C. Forte Jr.’s memory continue to inspire those who knew him, and may his spirit live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
