Austin Wayne Shipp, 2 years old, passed away unexpectedly and went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 19, 2024.
Austin was filled with energy, curiosity, joy, and as much love for Jesus as any 2-year-old could have. He loved his church, First Baptist Church of Newport News, where he attended Sunday School and Pre-School. If there was a dinosaur book around, he wanted it read to him. Austin loved bike rides and walks at the “turtle park” with his pup, Denver, his “favorite girl.” He made friends everywhere he went and was always ready to be a helper.
Austin is survived by his loving parents, Myles and Anne Marie Shipp of Newport News; his adoring grandparents, Wayne and Darlene Shipp, Bonnie Belile, and Carl and Kimberley Pope; his great-grandparents, Carl and Mary Sue Pope, and Col. James M. Puckett, USMC; his Aunt Melody Mattice and Uncle Matthew Shipp and many extended family, including great-aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Linda P. Puckett, Curtis E. Belile, LCDR (USN) and Dorothy Belile, and Beatrice Shipp.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Newport News Preschool.
