Gregory A. Ettel, of Virginia Beach, VA, passed away on February 29, 2024.
He was predeceased by his father, CMDR. Michael J. Ettel and his mother, Carol M. Ettel.
He is survived by his brothers Christopher J. Ettel (Peggy), Jeffrey C. Ettel (Christine), and Jonathan M. Ettel; nephew Michael J. Ettel II (Laney), and niece Chandler E. Ettel.
A lifelong Virginia Beach resident, Greg was a proud graduate of First Colonial High School and James Madison University. His love for the Oceanfront Resort Area led him to be one of the founding partners in Resort Property Management, where he led a fulfilling career in the hospitality and retail industry in various roles operating Oceanfront hotels and establishments.
Greg was best known for being a caring, loyal, and loving person with a genuine heart of gold. He demonstrated daily all these wonderful traits to his family, friends, and others. Everyone who knew Greg could see his unwavering faith in the Lord. He had the extraordinary gift of caring for people in need, regardless of their background or status. Those with the fortunate opportunity to know Greg had a friend for life.
A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at 11 a.m. in Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, 1404 Pacific Avenue, Virginia Beach, VA 23451.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad or a charity of the donor’s choice.
