James Christopher Beckles IV, age 23, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, passed away unexpectedly on February 20, 2024. Born on July 9, 2000, James brought joy and laughter to all those around him.
James briefly worked as a line worker at Acoustical Sheetmetal Company while actively planning to join the Merchant Marines. Beyond his work, he had a deep appreciation for nature, a love for basketball, and a passion for taekwondo. Known for his quick wit and gentle demeanor, James was truly a friend to all and a gentle giant.
A graduate of Landstown High School Class of 2018, James also spent a year of college studying in Canada, expanding his horizons and embracing new experiences. He was an active member of Dayspring Outreach Ministries, finding solace and community in his faith.
James will be dearly missed by his beloved 7-month-old daughter Ariella Beckles, father James Christopher Beckles III, mother Veronica Limos Beckles, sisters Tonya Ross, Angelica Beckles, and Clarissa Beckles, and his grandmother Violeta Limos. He also leaves behind his aunties, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless friends. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Alfredo Limos.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at a visitation on Friday, March 1, 2024, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5033 Rouse Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23462. A funeral service will be held the following day at 10 a.m. at the same location, with a burial to follow at Rosewood Memorial Park.
In his short time with us, James touched the lives of many with his kindness and humor. May he rest in peace, forever remembered and cherished in our hearts.
