Loyal Spencer Moore, 89, of Henrico

Loyal Spencer Moore (Vincent Funeral Home)

Loyal Spencer Moore went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 7, 2024.

He was born on April 20, 1934 in upstate New York, the town of Mooers Forks. Born to Earl Adams Moore and Ethlyn Massey Moore, the family owned and worked a dairy farm about 3 miles from the Canadian border. The family moved to Henrico Virginia in 1952, and Loyal graduated from Varina High School in 1954. In his younger years, Loyal was an excellent athlete, focusing primarily on basketball, yet playing team softball into his 50’s. Loyal was an avid sports fan, specifically the NY Yankees, Dallas Cowboys, and University of Richmond football and basketball. He retired from CSX where he served as a manager most of his career.

Loyal was predeceased by his parents, his sisters, Dorothea “Dot” Moore and Edna Moore Hill (Stan). He is survived by his loving wife, Jean Moore; his brother Kenneth “Ken” Moore, his daughter Karen Binion (William “Billy”), his son Jeffrey Moore (Rosel), his grandchildren Molly Binion Eisenback (Justin), Billy Binion, Tyler Moore, Kaitlyn Moore and great grandchild, Olivia Eisenback.

We would like to thank his caregivers at Suncrest Hospice, Kenny, Robin, Phyllis, Nora and others, as well as his private caregivers, Claudia, Sasha, Ginny and Su. They kept him as comfortable as possible as his body gave out from the effects of Parkinson’s. We also believe he could not face a rematch of Joe Biden and Donald Trump.

A family graveside service will take place at Beulah Church Cemetery, Saluda, VA. A celebration of life will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday March 2 at Tuckahoe Pines Retirement Community in Goochland and visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. Parking is limited; a shuttle will run from Hope Church across the street.
