Cheryl “Diane” Parker, age 69, passed away peacefully at her Virginia Beach residence on Saturday, 16 December 2023. She was a member of the Newtown Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS).
Diane was a native of Avery County, North Carolina, and a daughter of the late Bailey Thomas Owens and Susan Garnett Pritchard Owens. She was affectionally called “Nonnie” by her grandchildren and was a retired nurse of 35 years working for several hospitals and health care agencies as she accompanied her husband on his different assignments while serving in the United States Air Force.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, John Matthew Parker; two sons, John Scott Parker and Brian Matthew Parker (Amanda); two brothers, Stephen Owens (Tami), Thomas Owens (Stephanie); two sisters, Shelia Beck Stinson (Kenneth), Kathy Beck McCracken (James); three grandchildren, Jesse, Elli, and Connor.
Diane will be interned at Albert G. Horton Jr. Cemetery in Suffolk, Virginia.
