Philip William Athanas of Virginia Beach went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 27, 2023. He was born in Cambridge, MA on August 13, 1937.
He served on several ships, including the USS Dewey. He was a retired Naval Commander.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Sue; one stepdaughter and one stepson, two daughters, one brother, and six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 13, 2023 at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5033 Rouse Dr. in Virginia Beach.
The funeral service will begin at 1:30 p.m., with an hour prior viewing. The graveside service will follow.
