Parham, Thomas Arnold, 79, went to be with the Lord 1 November 2023.
Born in Burke County, North Carolina, to Christina & R. A. Parham, he is survived by his ex-wife, Sherry (Richard), daughter, Lee (Ken), a brother, Ed (Jeannette), three grandchildren, one great-grandson, nieces & nephews.
Tom retired from Lucent Technologies (formerly AT&T) as a computer engineer. Playing football in high school, Tom loved the outdoors. As an adult, he was a Scout Master & supporter of the Boy Scouts of America where he frequently led them to Camp T. Brady Saunders & Boy Scout Jamborees. Tom was also a former officer & volunteer with the New Kent Red Cross.
But his greatest love was always the water & fishing. From truck-camping to the Outer Banks of NC, surf fishing at Hatteras, & making beautiful surf-rods, he taught his daughter her love for fishing. Late in retirement he was able to experience his dream of living at the Chesapeake Bay where he enjoyed peaceful days of seafood & fishing-living near the quaint town of Reedville, VA.
The family would like to thank the VCU Palliative care team for taking such good care of Tom as he went peacefully to be with his Lord & Savior.
A private ceremony will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the New Kent Red Cross or Sandston Baptist Church.
