Michael Mark Mayes, III, 17, of Hayes, VA passed away unexpectedly on October 1, 2023.
Michael was currently a student at Gloucester High School, where he greatly enjoyed the auto tech and shop classes. Michael love hunting, fishing, working on vehicles and making wooden signs in shop class.
Michael’s strengths were his ability to make others laugh and bring happiness to everyone he met. He was always willing to help others. It didn’t matter what the task was, or who was asking, Michael would be there to help. He knew no strangers.
Michael is survived by his father, Michael Mark Mayes, Jr. (Jessica Candis Hitt); brother, Caleb L. Mayes; mother, Amanda Lynn Wooten-Mayes; stepbrother, Christopher Hitt; as well as many other relatives and friends, who were all touched by his life.
The Mayes family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, October 17 at Vincent Funeral Home, 417 11th St., West Point, VA 23181.
