John Preston Crowder III, of Deltaville, VA formerly of Mechanicsville, VA passed away April 21, 2023.
He was a 1973 graduate of Lee Davis High School and worked as a pharmacist for forty years. John and his wife were the owners and operators of West Point Pharmacy in West Point, VA. He was a member of West Point Ruritans as well as the West Point Chamber of Commerce. In his spare-time, John greatly enjoyed fishing and boating on the Rappahannock River and Chesapeake Bay.
John was preceded in death by his parents John and Dorothy Crowder.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mary Crowder; a daughter Fran Warren (Matt) and a son John Preston Crowder IV (Heather); two brothers Robert “Bob” Crowder (Donna) and Dr. Richard “Dick” Crowder (Jean); four grandchildren Quin, Elly, Alice and Anne; and his beloved dog “Henry.”
The family would like to thank their friends and neighbors for their support over the long battle John had with his illness.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 25 at New Kent Chapel, 13100 Cooks Mill Road, New Kent, VA 23124. The family will be available for friends and family immediately following the service. A light lunch will be provided on the grounds.
