Valrie G. DaVeiga, 82, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2023. She was born August 7, 1940 to the late Glaston Williams and Amy Rose Duffus of Panama.
Valrie was a hard working and very business minded woman. She worked several years for the Virginia Beach School System along with running a small business. Her entrepreneurial spirit was evident in everything she did.
She was a member of several organizations including NSU Alumni, American Legion Auxiliary and St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church’s Women’s Altar Guild. Valrie was always active, loved to cook, dance, travel and attending family and friend gatherings. She was always willing to help you in anyway possible. She loved her family dearly and would do anything for them.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband and son, John E. DaVeiga, Sr. and John E. DaVeiga, Jr.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving children, Mary-Ann Henry-Price and her husband Levy of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Melinda S. DaVeiga of Oahu, Hawaii and Michael A. DaVeiga and his wife Amy of Hanover, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Andrea M. Hoidal and her husband Triston, Gabriella, Johnathyn and Jamiyan DaVeiga; two great-grandchildren, Nyah and Maddisyn Hoidal; sister Diana Sangster; nephew Roberto Rook and a host of special “Friends and Family”.
A visitation will be held on Monday, March 20, 2023 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5033 Rouse Drive in Virginia Beach.
