Alvester Fields, affectionately known as “Noisy,” departed his earthly home on Monday, January 30, 2023. He was born on July 2, 1959, the second child born of the late Alice Faye Fields in Lackey, VA. After his mother’s passing in 1975, his aunt Mary L. “Bug” Welsh stepped in as his motherly figure.
He was a graduate of York High School. For the past thirty years, he worked as a maintenance engineer at the Quality Inn in Williamsburg, VA. They really enjoyed his company so much and knew him as “Al.”
Noisy was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Those who shared a special relationship with him knew of his love for hunting and his homemade fire pit.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Judith Fields, ShiQuita Fields, and Valerie Fields; and two brothers, Eugene Welsh and Orlando Welsh.
Noisy leaves his precious memories with his son, Demetrius Fields (Elvira); grandchild, Adonis Darnell Fields; siblings, Sonja Stamps (James), Elwood Fields (Melinda), Reginald Fields, Frederick Fields, Darlene Saunders, Cynthia Taylor, Anthony Welsh (Juanita), Gary Welsh, and Karen Smith; aunt, Rosa Lee Turner of Chicago, IL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 11, 2023, in Whiting’s Funeral Home. Live stream will be available at the beginning of the service. Facial coverings are required for all services.
