Makella Dionna Fox, 45, received her wings on Saturday, February 4th, 2023. She will join her grandparents, great aunts and uncles, cousins and her dog Coco Chanel in Heaven with our Lord.
Born on December 31st, 1977, in Newport News, VA. Makella brought her caring spirit, warm presence, and illuminating smile into our world. She joined in holy matrimony on November 18th, 2006 to the love of her life Ferando Lamas Fox.
Makella received an education from Ferguson High School in 1996 and completed New Horizons Technical School in 1997. She provided for her community by utilizing her nursing skills to improve the quality of life in others. Her love of her family, friends, pets, and her genuine care for others will find us now and always.
Her cherished memory will be kept by her husband and dog Brookie Fox and Ferando Fox; two sisters Star Holmes and Isis Lyons; brother Roosevelt Lyons III; mother Gloria Lyons; father Roosevelt Lyons Jr.; eight nieces and nephews; and a host of family and friends. Makella was celebrated as the glue to our family, and her love of fine dining, beauty, fashion, film, and laughter will live on though us all.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 from 3-5pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home Riverside Chapel, 7415 River Rd. Newport News, VA 23607. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at 11am at Colossian Baptist Church followed by a burial at Peninsula Memorial Park.
