Miriam C Scott, 95, of Williamsburg

Miriam C Scott was called to eternal rest Wednesday, August 3, 2022. She was born on April 23, 1927.

At an early age, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at the Historic First  Baptist Church in Williamsburg, VA.

Miriam was educated in the Williamsburg-James City County Public School system. Miriam worked at The College Pharmacy for many years and the Golden Horseshoe Golf with the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation.  She was also a Foster Grandparent.  She was a member of the Carver Gardens Philodendron Club and was a Daughter Elk of Old Capital Lodge #629.

Miriam enjoyed word find puzzles and spending time with her grandkids, great-grandkids, and children in general.  Miriam had a way with children in Carver Gardens, earning the name “Mama Scott”.  Her door was always open to anyone in need.  She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Miriam was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Scott Sr, grandson, Bruce Scott, granddaughter Tierra Brown, grandson, Brian Scott Sr., and great-grandson, Jakeem “King” Brown.  She leaves to cherish her fond memories with her six loving children, John Scott (Alveta), Patricia Vaught (Albert), Sarah Scott, Charles Scott, Freaderick Scott Jr (Gail), and Senora Opie (Victor); eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and devoted friends.

A funeral service will be held at noon Monday, August 15, 2022, at Whiting’s Funeral Home.  Live stream will be available at the beginning of the service. Ms. Scott may be viewed on Monday beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the hour of her service in the funeral home. Facial coverings are required.
