Emma Bradsby, 93, of Williamsburg

Emma Spence Bradsby answered the Master’s call on Thursday, May 19, 2022. Her life began on November 24, 1928, to the late Henry and Lelia Dandridge Spence.  Emma was a sweet and caring person and a loving mother, grandmother, and aunt.

She joined Shiloh Baptist Church in Croaker at an early age, where she was a dedicated and faithful member until her health prevented her from doing so.

She worked for the College of William & Mary and the Motor House until her retirement.  She later worked at the Williamsburg Pottery.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, a sister, two sons, and a daughter.

Emma’s life will forever be cherished by her devoted daughters, Lelia Redd, Veronica Bradsby, Sarah Drumgoogle (Joe); son, James Bradsby jr.; loving grandchildren, Tonita Wynne (Larry), Vernée Redd, Natasha Artis (Anthony), James Bradsby, Shawn Bradsby (Lisa), Darrell Bradsby, Terrence Bradsby, Ronald Bradsby, and DeAndré Bradsby; great-grandchildren, Teantanette Gholston (Johnathan), LaMisha Greenhow (Stephen), Zyeem Redd, Zahmasja Redd, Branisha Meekins, Deja Meekins, Tiara Russell, Justina Bradsby, Jayla Bradsby, Terry Mathis, Imani Tyler, Jada Tyler, Taeshawn Tyler, Myrah Bradsby, Kameron and Kayden Bradsby; great-great-grandchildren, Makayla Gholston, Elias Greenhow, Noah and Leah Russell, Carson Mitchell, and Kai Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

A graveside service will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, May 28, 2022, in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery, Croaker.  Livestream will be available at the beginning of the service.  Family and friends are to assemble at the cemetery by 11:30 a.m. Saturday.  Please bring your own lawn chairs as seating will be limited.
