WILLIAMSBURG —

Safe In the arms of Jesus
Safe on his gentle breast
There by His love o’ershaded,
Sweetly my soul shall rest

On Thursday, February 17, 2022, our lovely Queen Sabrina C. Johnson Garner went home to be with the Lord. Her life began on December 5, 1955, the daughter of the late Alma and James E. Johnson of Williamsburg, Virginia.

Sabrina graduated from Lafayette High School’s first “Class of 74” and furthered her education at William & Mary College. She was a certified cosmetologist and attended the Virginia School of Hair Design. Sabrina later drove the bus for the Community Action Agency and also worked for York County Public Schools.

Sabrina was known as a loving and kind mother to all that were close to her. She had a heart of gold and would help anyone. Sabrina was not just a mother to her own two children but to every child who encountered her. She was very well-loved and those who met her will never forget her.  She leaves with us an unforgettable legacy of love. We will deeply miss her but find comfort in knowing that she is now resting in the arms of Jesus.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Johnson; mother, Alma Johnson; and brother, Frederick Johnson. She leaves to cherish blessed memories, her son, Alonzo Johnson (Sindija); daughter, Jeniqua Johnson; grandchildren, Hayden and Kristaps Johnson; sisters, Sheron Jones, Judy Johnson, and Leslie Wilkerson; sister-in-love, Virginia Wesley; brother, John Johnson; niece, Jovon Jones Whitby (Russell); nephews, James F Johnson Jr., Rodney Johnson, Gregory Johnson (Theresa), Tarrald Wynn, and William L. Jones III; bonus daughter, Giresha “Gigi” Gray; and a host of other loving relatives and caring friends.

Memories are forever,
Be the laughter of our tears.
Memories we will treasure through all our passing years
The love we have for her will never fade away.

A celebration of life service will be held at noon Friday, February 25, 2022, at Bethel Restoration Center.  Live stream will be available at the beginning of the service.  Interment to follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery.  Mrs. Johnson Garner may be viewed on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
