Leonard “Lenny” Percival Pitts, 74

NEWPORT NEWS — Leonard Percival Pitts, 74, or Lenny as he was affectionately called, to the late Vallan and Mabel Pitts of Belize, Central America. Lenny was very jovial, friendly, and outgoing from his youth. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He embodied strength and resilience while being the epitome of happiness and humor. Those, who knew Lenny, also knew that you could count on him to be a source of wisdom and positive energy. 

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Vallan P. L. Pitts and Mabel E. Pitts nee McAllister, and grandparents William and Ada Pitts nee Hemmans; George Fitzgerald McAllister and Sarah LaMoine Perry.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Judith (Judy) Pitts nee Garcia; four children: Leonard, Jr. (Kimberly), Kareem A. (Antoinette), Khalilah N. Davis (Edwin), Livangah A. Lee (Shawn); 10 grandchildren: Shamari, Joshua, Azariah, Aliyah, Amaya, Asher, Elijah, Liana, Levi, Alanna & Baby Lee (Due May 2022); siblings Shirley Ann Pitts of New York, Anthony G.F. Pitts of Belize, Arthur A.E. Pitts, Sr., of Reston, VA (Marion), Marjorie S. A. Pitts- Gillett(Charles) of Kennesaw, GA, Ada S.L. Pitts- Rivers of Boca Raton(Morrison) of Kennesaw, GA; a host of loving nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

May his soul rest in perfect peace and rise in God’s Glory!

The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Friday, February 11, 2022 with the Funeral starting at 4:00 p.m. at Weymouth Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 4, 2022 at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, Virginia, with Military Honors.
