NEWPORT NEWS — Byon Jasper Jackson, 82, passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2022. He retired from the City of Newport News Fire Department. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jasper and Lettie Jackson and sister, Dora Jackson. Byon is survived by his wife, Rachel Hawes Jackson; daughter, Valise Jackson; sisters, Patricia Chandler (Joe), Lynda Clyde Melton (Edward); three nieces and two nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1:00–5:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2022 and from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 16, 2022 at their residence.
