NEWPORT NEWS — On December 13, 2021, adored husband, father, and friend James Edward Veazey, “Jim,” passed peacefully at a Newport News hospice.
James was born February 21, 1933 in Durham, North Carolina. A veteran of the United States Air Force, he retired as a Master Sergeant. He also retired from civil service after a second career with the United States Coast Guard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Rosa Walker Veasey, sister Irene Guerrant, and brother Percy Veasey.
Survivors include his beloved wife of sixty-three years, Jane Kimrey Veazey; sons Brian and Jason; daughters-in-law Nancy Figueroa and Karen Acord Veazey; granddaughters Erica, Savanna, Paige, and Hope; brothers Douglas and Bobby.
Arrangements for services have not been finalized; these are being handled by the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Denbigh Chapel.
