NEWPORT NEWS — A bright light gone too soon, beloved father and Grandpa Kurt Michael Boucher departed this life on November 15th, 2021. Kurt was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Gerald and Annabelle Boucher on January 22nd, 1959. He was the eldest of three boys and a very proud big brother.
He attended Edward H. White High School in Jacksonville, Florida where he served as Vice President of Student Council, NJROTC Battalion Commander, Vice President of Chorus, and was a member of the National Honor Society and the Boys Varsity Soccer team. He kept in contact with many of his school friends over the years and always looked forward to catching up with them at reunions.
Kurt led a life of duty and service. He followed in his father’s footsteps and was a proud sailor, traveling the world with the United States Navy for 24 years. He was an active member of the Boy Scouts of America, serving in various roles spanning over two decades. Most recently, he served the Order of the Arrow and was Assistant Scout Master and Merit Badge Counselor for Troop 306.
Kurt was a man of faith, honor, and tradition. He was a family man and a true gentleman. Undeniably funny and always up for an adventure, his kind and gentle way, his genuine smile, and his great big bear hugs endeared him to all. Even in death, Kurt’s generous spirit endures; his gift of life will bless others and their loved ones down through the generations.
He is survived by his cherished granddaughters Annabelle and Juliana, his daughters Jacqueline (Ryan) and Stephanie (Joseph), son Stephen, nephew Robert (Kim), and youngest brother Kevin, as well as many close friends who will cherish his memory forever.

Visitation is scheduled from 2:00-3:00pm and funeral services are from 3:00-4:00pm on Friday December 3, 2021 at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Denbigh Chapel, 12893 Jefferson Avenue, Newport News, Virginia 23608.
