HISTORIC TRIANGLE — Pauline Cooke Marsh entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center. She was born October 26, 1930, to the late George Lee Cooke and Sadie Matthews Cooke of York County Virginia.
She attended Magruder school of the York County Public School System and also attended Bruton Heights school in James City County. Pauline retired from Colonial Williamsburg Foundation after more than twenty-five years of service.
Pauline loved the Lord. She was a dedicated and faithful member of Oak Grove Baptist Church for most of her life. She loved her pastor Rev. Steven L. Keller.
A remarkable woman who lived a full life was known for her kindness, soft voice, and gift-giving. She loved to cook, and made the best rice pudding! Pauline was stylish, fashionable, and cared about her appearance. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them during the holidays, birthdays, and special occasions.
Pauline was also preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Charles Winfield Marsh Sr.; son, Charles Winfield Marsh Jr.; granddaughter Constance Melissa Marsh; and great-grandson, John Lee Walker Jr. Her legacy will continue to live on with her daughter, Dale Jackson (William); son, Calvin Marsh (Darlene); nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren; sister, Edith Cooke Wallace; brother-in-law, Albert Lee Marsh (Joyce); special niece, Jeanette Wallace; and a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 28, 2021, at Whiting’s Funeral Home. Livestream will be available at the beginning of the service. Interment to follow in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Marsh may be viewed on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, in the funeral home. Facial coverings are required at all services.
