NEWPORT NEWS — Ronlee Charles Peters, 64, of Newport News, VA passed away on Friday, August 13, 2021. He is the son of the late Charles B. and Martha Elizabeth Peters. Ronlee proudly served in the U.S. Navy before pursuing a career with the Newport News Shipyard (Huntington Ingalls). He recently retired after serving for over 30 years, finishing his career as a Supervisor with Department X43. He felt such pride in making ships and continuing to serve the Armed Forces in a ship building capacity. He loved his Dallas Cowboys and his classic cars.
Ronlee leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Mary E. Peters; his three children, Sherrie Sharpe of Newport News, James (Billy) Bertrand of Deltaville, VA and Robert (Mikie) Eberhardt of Williamsburg, VA; his siblings, Sylvania Peters-Jackson (Darrell) of Delmar, DE, Marcella Peters Bullock of Newport News, VA, Terezia White (Ed) of Texas, Sharon Peters of Newport News, VA, Ricardo Mitchell of New Jersey and Mario Peters of Hampton, VA. Ronlee also leaves to cherish his memory a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and so many other family members who were cherished to him.
No services are planned at this time. We ask that if you’d like to honor Ronlee that you simply live life to the fullest and enjoy the ride as he has done.
Family meant everything to Ron. Our chain has been broken but our missing link is now living in glory. “This isn’t goodbye, it’s see you later!”
