WILLIAMSBURG — Joanne Tye, 67, passed away Friday, July 23, 2021.
Throughout her life as a nurse, Joanne helped many people. She loved being a nurse and worked for several companies throughout her career, including Home Instead. She was also a member of Grace Baptist Church.
She loved the beach, fishing, cooking, traveling, shopping with her daughter and going to the spas. She enjoyed spending time with her family and all of her many, many friends. She was a huge fan of Jimmy Buffet and never missed one of his concerts.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph P. Denton; mother, Winnie Leigh Reason; and first husband, Gordon Albert Munsterman.
Joanne is survived by her husband, Harold Michael Tye; daughter, Dana Leigh Kirkland; son-in-law, Nathan Lee Kirkland; stepsons, Christopher and Adam Tye; grandchildren, Phoenix Kirkland and Logan Soles; and brothers, Timothy and Glenn Denton.
Services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, July 29, at Nelsen Funeral Home, Williamsburg.
